Final Artist Statement

For this project, my idea was to create a mini game resembling the board game "Clue", but with a twist. Instead of the original characters like Peacock, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, etc, I made it so the suspects were celebrities (Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Charlie Puth). I also switched the rooms to be locations that these celebrities would most likely be found at. So Kanye was performing on a stage, Kim at a photoshoot, Taylor on a plane, and Charlie in the studio. Finally, I organized what type of weapons, or in this case, pieces of evidence each character could have. For Kanye I made the evidence a mask, Taylor a bedazzled gun, Kim a bucket of bleach, and Charlie a knife. It was kind of surprising how quickly I came up with the idea because I wanted the storyline to reflect the actual celebrities and how they live their lives. I tried to make it somewhat funny and enjoyable and I think that was the reaction I got while showing it to the class. The tough part was planning the buttons and which page it would get directed to because the assignment calls for at least 10 pages. The GIFs were pretty easy to create because i just made a unique GIF for each of the weapons, and made one of dripping blood. Obviously, if there was more time, I could have made the story and the pages more intricate, but overall I am very happy with my finished product. I let my roommates play it and they loved it, which made me happy with it.
