An idea that I have for my animation revolves around a conversation with a friend. We delve into the concept that the world might be a simulation, and wonder the unsettling idea of being controlled by external forces. For my transition, there could be various different ways it plays out —maybe a dream, a hallucination, or a conscious daydream.

The animation would showcase a real-life Sims game, because I used to play the game a lot as a kid, where someone external gains control of me. I picture someone dictating my outfit choices, deciding where I should live, and orchestrating different tasks of my life. I would use images from the game and paste myself into the game. The way that I would transition back to reality in the end would be because the person controlling me has actually killed me, because there are various ways you can kill your sim in the game.

Another brainstorm I had was a theme that reminisces old trends in pop culture. The most nostalgic period of my life would be the rising popularity of YouTube, where all the viral videos were being posted. The animation would pay homage to iconic characters from these videos - Annoying Orange, Fred, the duck from the Duck Song, etc. Though this concept is my favorite, it would be very tough to actually complete the animations using After Effects. I wouldn't know wether to use images of the actual characters, or draw them myself. Either way, I think it would take a lot more time to complete than the first idea.
